Why I am passionate about Amber Community?
My family and I have experienced the worst of road trauma when our beautiful daughter Freya died after being hit by a car at the tender age of four. I have personally benefitted from the services of Amber Community since then. I am particularly passionate about the preventative and educational work we do so that as few people as possible ever have to go through similar pain.

Mark Musgrave - Deputy Chair

B Bus, CA ANZ, MBA

  • Significant Australian and overseas experience in strategy development and implementation, profit improvement and change management.
  • Broad industry sector expertise in delivering capital and operational programs focused on redesigned IT systems, processes and organisation structures to deliver improved customer service, and shareholder value.
  • Effective leadership and mentoring skills across finance, supply chain, strategy, M&A and business transformation.

Why I am passionate about Amber Community?
My aunt at 21-years-old was significantly disfigured in a fiery car accident in the south of England.  She was lucky to survive and spent many months in the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead. This National Health Service hospital specialises in providing life-changing reconstructive surgery, burns care and rehabilitation services. Following her recovery, she spent years teaching burns victims (often through road trauma) in the use of cosmetic make-up to hide their disfigurement.  Having seen her work, I admire the amazing resilience displayed by the victims of road trauma and the importance of caring and professional support.

Johan Meyer - Treasurer

As Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee, Johan leads financial governance and compliance. Appointed 2020

Why I am passionate about Amber Community?
Amber Community provides support and counselling to any person impacted by road trauma and fits a space where other groups may not. Amber Community has a very personal approach with volunteers meeting with victims of road trauma. Many of the volunteers experienced similar traumatic events previously and benefitted from the services Amber Community provide. Also, Amber Community offers educational programs to prevent these horrible events from occurring. I want to be part of an organisation that brings hope when the unthinkable happens where one road death is one too many. So I am using my talents in a particular way to make our roads safer.
